Long-term variations of cosmic ray rigidity spectrum

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Zemnogo Magnetizma, Ionosfery i Rasprostraneniya Radiovoln

Description

The data of the world net of neutron monitors give a rigidity spectrum of long-time variations of cosmic rays (CR) in 1957-1982. The spectrum obtained permits to compare indices of solar activity (SA) with CR behaviour of different rigidities. Considerable part (especially close to CR minima) of CR variations is connected with the sign of general magnetic field. Delay in CR relative to changes in SA indices is about a year. Nonmonotonous nature of rigidity dependence of correlation coefficients between SA indices and CR variations prove a complex nature of effect on CR of general heleomagnetosphere structure
