Effect of near-ultraviolet radiation on the responsibility of antioxidative functoin of orchid leaves
Description
In the present study, the responsibilities of antioxidant abilities in leaves of Sophrolaeliocattleya and Cymbidium exposed to near-ultraviolet (UV-A) radiation were examined. It is suggested that activity of super oxide dismutase (SOD) in Sophrolaeliocattleya and activity of SOD and flavonoid content in Cymbidium have high responsibility to strong UV-A irradiation, and that irradiation of UV-A has effective to growth and formation of carotenoid and chlorophyll for both plants. Light condition without UV would be stress for both plants
