Development of an irradiation technology for the recycling of Am-241 in nuclear reactors
Description
The report gives a detailed description of the irradiation technology for the recycling of Am-241 in nuclear reactors. The different steps i.e., design, manufacture, transport, and post-irradiation-examinations for the irradiation pins, as well as the irradiations themselves are discussed. The theoretical part of this report shows the possibilities for reduction of the hazard potential of radionuclides with respect to their recycling in nuclear reactors. (orig.)

In dem vorliegenden Bericht wird eine Bestrahlungstechnologie fuer Am-241 vorgestellt. Es werden die Teilschritte Auslegung, Herstellung, Transport und Nachuntersuchungen der Bestrahlungsstaebe sowie der Ablauf der eigentlichen Bestrahlungen beschrieben. Im theoretischen Teil der Arbeit wird auf die Reduktionsmoeglichkeiten des Schadenspotentials radioaktiver Stoffe durch Rueckfuehrung dieser in Reaktoren eingegangen. (orig.)
