Growth of pp interaction total cross section at high energies and scaling violation in inclusive spectra of secondary particles in additive quark model

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad. Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki

Description

In the additive quark model the inclusive spectra of hadrons in the fragmentation range with x > or approximately 0.2 are formed by the spectator mechanism. The increase in the total hadron-hadron cross sections and induced change in the contribution from the Glauber shadow effects have to reduce the average number of the spectator quarks and, hence, lead to scaling violation for the yields of the fragmentation particles. The scaling violation effects in the pp inclusive spectra are calculated for σsub(tot)(pp) varying from 40 to 60 mb
