Construction of nuclear power plant A-1 contributed to the knowledge of limiting states of brittle fracture of welded bodies
Description
The results obtained in calculating, constructing and manufacturing the reactor pressure vessel of the A-1 nuclear power plant are evaluated. Conventional ideas of strain and the behaviour of large welded bodies are confronted with a modern objective concept of limiting states. The importance of close contacts of science and practical work and of international scientific co-operation is pointed out. (author)
