Description
The present talk summarizes the recent advancement in our laboratory regarding the photo-physical characteristics of a few selected self-assembled systems and newly introduced 2 dimensional materials. Self-assembly has been utilized as a strategic approach towards generating aggregation induced enhanced emission from various systems for effective sensing of a number of analytes. Herein, we present; (a) a mixed ligand approach in lanthanide based gel systems for sensing temperature and pH over a wide range, (b)design strategy to avoid co-facial arrangements in chosen donor-IT-acceptor systems for sensing volatile acids and aromatic amines, and (c) synthesis and characterization of a new 2D material - pyrediyne- and initial photo-physical studies of quantum dots derived from the material.
