Study of the possibilities of using nuclear methods for characterizing the surface region of glasses
Description
Following a review of the different methods used for the analysis of surfaces, we give a detailed description of charged particle elastic backscattering and the experimental devices. We then apply this method to the study of the lixiviation of borosilicate glasses in aqueous media and to the characterization of two heavy elements, cerium and thorium and their possible interaction in simple borosilicates.
Abstract (French)
Apres un rappel des differentes methodes d'analyse de surface, on expose en detail la methode par retrodiffusion elastique de particules chargees et les dispositifs experimentaux. Puis on applique cette methode a l'etude de la lixiviation des verres de borosilicate en milieu aqueux, et a la caracterisation de deux elements lourds cerium et thorium et leur eventuelle interaction dans des borosilicates simples.Files
