PIFON small-size x-ray apparatus with HF accelerating system
Description
Possibility of using charged particle accelerators of various types when creating small-size X-ray apparatus is discussed. A PIFON apparatus design is described. Its emitter represents a high-frequency resonator electron accelerator with a HF electron tube generator combined with the resonator in a single unit and connected with it by a power capacitative coupling. The maximum consumed power amounts to 1 kW. Exposure dose rate at a 700 Mm distance from thc tube focus at 300 keV electron beam energy and 1 mA average current is about 1-2 R/min
