Report

Development of a methodology to include the phenomenon of ageing into probabilistic estimations

Description

The aim of the report was to outline practical methods of investigation of the ageing issues, i.e., to identify (based on existing knowledge) components and systems that are sensitive to degradation due to ageing and whose failure could have a negative impact on the safety of the power plant. The following methods are discussed: (i) analysis of operating experience; (ii) expert opinion; and (iii) probabilistic approach to the identification of priorities and ageing-related risk. (P.A.)
