Measurement of the Energy Spectrum of Neutron Source 241Am-Be with Time of Flight Technique

  • 1. Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Vandegraff Laboratory, Tehran (Iran, Islamic Republic of)

Description

In order to measure the energy spectrum of neutron source (241Am-Be), time of flight technique was applied. Neutron emitted from the Source is scattered in a scintillator detector and detected in a second scintillator. A multi-parameter data acquisition system was used; pulse height from each detector and time between these pulses are measured event by event, in a computer memory. Time of flight spectrum was detected and converted to energy spectrum. A Monte-Carlo program has been written to simulate various experimental results. Good agreement was observed between calculation and Experimental Data.
