On the 12Kh1MF steel hardening
Description
The effect of alloying elements microstructure and content on the long-term strength of the 12Kh1MF steel as produced and after a long aging for 40,000-100,000 h at 813 K (service conditions) has been investigated. Some mechanisms of solid solution hardening with molybdenum are considered. It is shown that the long-term strength of the 12Kh1MF steel is defined mainly by the precipitation hardening. The effect of molybdenum in the solid solution is explained by the intensification of friction in the lattice during the sliding of dislocations, molybdenum content decrease on aging down to 0.14-0.10 % in mass effecting insignificantly the long-term strength at 813 K
