The 1983 uranium picture
Description
Output of the seven Canadian uranium producers was 8 Gg U in 1982. The Key Lake mine in Saskatchewan and expansion at Elliot Lake in Ontario will ensure that the industry will set all-time production records in the mid-eighties. Expenditure on uranium exploration, which is largely centred in Saskatchewan, decreased by 20% in 1981. Eldorado Nuclear is building a refinery at Blind River Ontario with a capacity of 18 Gg U/a
