Fractionated radiation treatment combined with hyperthermia in transplantable adenocarcinoma of the mouse

Description
Transplantable adenocarcinomas of the C3H mouse were treated with fractionated radiotherapy combined with local hyperthermia of 43.50C for 20 min before each dose fraction and local cure rate was determined. The sensitizing effect of hyperthermia was seen with fractionated treatment as well as with single treatment. The TER (thermal enhancement ratio), however, decreased with decreasing interval between the fractions. (orig.)

Transplantable Adenokarzinome der C3H-Maus wurden mit unterschiedlichen Strahlendosen in Kombination mit einer lokalen Tumorueberwaermung auf 43,50C fuer 20 min vor jeder Strahlendosis fraktioniert behandelt und die lokale Heilungsrate bestimmt. Der sensibilisierende Effekt der Hyperthermie trat wie bei Einzeitbehandlung auch bei fraktionierter Behandlung auf, nahm aber mit abnehmendem Fraktionierungsintervall ab. (orig.)Additional details
