Empirical regularities in behaviour of the cross sections of cadmium, dissociative excitation in the e-CdX2 (X = Cl, Br, I) collisions

Description
Search for the empirical regularities in the behaviour of the cross sections of the cadmium, atom and single-charged ion dissociative excitation in the collisions of the slow-energy electrons with the cadmium halides molecules is initiated. The comparison of the cross sections at the electrons energy of 30 eV shows that the cross sections of the dissociative excitation for all the CdI and CdII transitions in case of the CdCl32 molecule are significantly lesser than of the direct one. The cross sections of the singlet and ion transitions in case of the CdI2 molecule behave likewise, whereas the cross sections of the triplet transitions dissociative excitation are by 2.16-3.60 time higher as by the direct one
Abstract (Russian)
Предпринят поиск эмпирических закономерностей в поведении сечений диссоциативного возбуждения атома и однозарядного иона кадмия при столкновениях медленных моноэнергетичных электронов с молекулами галогенидов кадмия. Сравнение сечений при энергии электронов 30 эВ показывает, что для всех переходов CdI и CdII в случае молекулы CdCl2 сечения диссоциативного возбуждения значительно меньше, чем прямого. В случае молекулы CdI2 так же ведут себя сечения синглетных и ионных переходов, тогда как сечения диссоциативного возбуждения триплетных переходов в 2.16-3.60 раза больше, чем прямогоAdditional details
