Description
At March 31, 2024, the French wind farms had a capacity of 23.8 GW, including 22.3 GW of onshore wind power and 1.5 GW of offshore wind power. In the first quarter of 2024, newly connected capacity amounted to 0.3 GW. The capacity of projects currently under appraisal amounts to 15.4 GW, including 12.2 GW of onshore wind projects and 3.2 GW of offshore wind projects. Wind-generated electricity totaled 15.8 TWh in the first quarter of 2024, including 0.97 TWh from offshore wind. This represents 15.5% of French electricity consumption in the first quarter of 2024, up 5% on the same period in 2023.
