X-ray study of tungsten and molybdenum powders obtained by plasma reduction

Description
X-ray structural techniques have been applied to investigate the dependence of the phase composition and a fine crystalline structure of plasma tungsten and molybdenum powders on the annealing temperature. The temperature has been changed from room to 900 deg C. It is shown that a fine crystalline structure of tungsten and molybdenum powders does not depend either on temperature or on β-phase content (for tungsten). The crystalline structure of the β-phase is clarified using the M-222M computer according to the formula for intensities of diffraction peaks in polycrystalline samples. It is shown that the β-phase is a tungsten metastable metallic modification
