Description
The rare earth elements (REE) form a coherent group of elements having geological significance and strategic importance. They play an important role in geochemical processes. Their distribution is influenced by both magmatism and sedimentation. In industry they are used in electronics, super magnet, superconductors and in high tech. alloys. Various instrumental methods such as flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), X- ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRFS), Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INNA). Isotopic dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS), Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) are used for their determination
