Photodissociation of H2 into H(1S)+H(n=3) fragments: Which atomic state?

Description
The relative populations of the 3s, 3p, 3d states of the fragments have been determined for various excitation energies, by a fluorescence time analysis. The branching ratios show strong variations. The possible predissociation mechanisms are discussed
