Description
In the first part of this report quantum mechanical distribution functions are discussed. Especially the Wigner function, the Q-function and the P-function are considered. Coherent states, squeezed states and the optical interferometry of beam splitters are further topics. In the second part applications of the interferometry of matter waves are presented. The dynamical theory of diffraction and the three - and four - plate neutron interferometer are described. Coherent properties of the beam superposition are described using distribution functions and dephasing effects as well as special correlations are considered. Finally spin-echo systems and the interaction of neutrons in rotating magnetic fields are discussed. (author)
