Description

Storage facilities, referred to as bin sets, are provided for the interim storage of the granular solid radioactive waste produced at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant. Each bin set provides complete isolation of the waste from the environment by a double containment system. This paper describes the bin sets, including retrieval lines, vent and relief system, and transport and fill system. Also described are the cooling air system, the vent and relief system, retrieval systems and radiation monitors are discussed
