Blowdown experiments on the superheated steam reactor with SULZER own-medium operated main steam isolation valve

Under an assignment from the German Federal Ministry of Research and Technology, since mid-1977 the Karlsruhe Nuclear Research Centre (GfK) has been investigating safety systems at Grosswelzheim as part of the safety program project for the superheated steam reactor. A major part of this program is devoted to possible accidents involving loss of coolant. Besides other components, the behaviour of safety devices under the maximum credible accident (MCA) is being investigated. SULZER is participating in this work also. (Auth.)
