The determination of potential immunogenicity against trypanosomiasis

Description

An attempt to produce immunity against trypanosomiasis were investigated, using mice as experimental animals. T. evansi exposed to a Gamma irradiation dose of 300, 350, and 400 Gy were inoculated intraperitoneally into groups of mice. The inoculation dose consist of 2 exp. 6 and 4 exp. 6 trypanosomes. Immunizing inoculation were given twice at interval of 7 days. Challenge inoculation with exp. 3 non-irradiated T. evansi were given 14 days after the second immunizing inoculation. Results obtained showed that inoculation with trypanosomes exposed to 300 Gy could grow potential immunogenicity. Inoculation dose of 2 exp. 6 and 4 exp. 6 showed no differences in immunogenicity.
