Analysis by RELAP-2 code for blowdown experiments simulating a loss-of-coolant accident in BWR

Description
An evaluation of the RELAP-2 code for blowdown analysis is given, using the results of the ROSA experiment which simulates a loss-of-coolant accident in light water reactors. The values of the parameters in the model were varied for different experimental conditions to give good agreement of the pressure and temperature transients with experimental data. The variation thus necessitated indicates that the mass velocity table given by Moody has to be modified for the location and the size of the break. Further efforts require to be undertaken for improving the code, and much experimental study is also called for. (author)
