Low-temperature laser plasmas near metal surfaces in high-pressure gases (review)

Description

A review is given of experimental and theoretical investigations of the problem of the practical use of low-temperature laser plasmas at high pressures (10--150 atm). Attention is concentrated on the theoretical aspects of the development of laser plasmas near metal surfaces in nitrogen at laser radiation intensities of 50--103 MW/cm2 (lambda = 1.06 μ). The various problems and possibilities of further investigations are discussed
