Crystal spectrometer on JFT-2M

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Research Inst., Naka, Ibaraki. Naka Fusion Research Establishment

Description

To measure the central ion temperature in JFT-2M, a Johann type crystal spectrometer (Rowland circle diameter; 2453 mm, Crystal; Quartz (SiO2), Cut; (224-bar3)) was constructed, and by using Holumium target X-ray tube, a focus of this spectrometer was adjusted. In this process following results were obtained. (1) The resolving power (λ/Δλ) of this spectrometer is above 2 x 104. (2) The depth of a focus is about ± 5 mm. These results indicate that this spectrometer can use to measure the Doppler profile of He-like iron line (FeXXV, λ = 0.1850 nm) and dielectric satellite spectra of Li-like iron in JFT-2M plasma heated by ICRF and NBI.
