The research reactor JEEP was completed in 1951 at Kjeller near Oslo as a joint Netherlands-Norwegian establishment. This became the first nuclear establishment in the world to throw open its doors to scientists and technicians from other countries. The article describes the course of events leading up to this accomplishment
