Plant aging management and aging monitoring from the angle of the nuclear supervisory authority
Description
Aging due to plant operation is an aspect considered as early as in planning, design and manufacture of components, and suitable provisions are taken at a variety of levels. During operation, aging monitoring (diagnostic assessment) is a major task provided for by the regulatory regime as a preventive measure. The paper discusses the current practice and procedure for aging management or aging monitoring in nuclear power plants and shows the legal aspects and intent. (DG)
Abstract (German)
Bereits bei der Planung, Auslegung und Fertigung von Komponenten wird die Alterung im spaeteren Betrieb beruecksichtigt und entsprechende Vorsorgemassnahmen getroffen. Waehrend des Betriebs kommt der Alterungsueberwachung (Diagnostik) besondere Bedeutung zu, um schwerwiegendere Stoerungen zu vermeiden. Die gegenwaertige Praxis des Alterungsmanagements bzw. der Alterungsueberwachung in den deutschen Kernkraftwerken sowie rechtliche Ueberlegungen hierzu werden beschrieben. (DG)Additional details
