Modern titanium structural alloys
Creators
Description
Modern structional titanium alloys and methods of their strengthening are considered. Data on chemical composition and mechanical properties of the alloys of different classes: α-alloys, pseudo-α-alloys, α+β-alloys of martensite and transition types, pseudo-β-alloys and β alloys are presented. Connection between the structure and mechanical properties of the alloys is shown. Conclusion is made that thermomechanical treatment, the u;e of metastable state as well as intermetallic strengthening of α- and β-solid solutions are the most perspective methods of further increase of strength and plasticity in titanium alloys
