Description
The output energy and resolving power of a high-resolution monochromator are sensitive to temperature and vibrations of optical elements. Cooling of mirrors and gratings require: (1) to decreasing the velocity of cooling water with sufficient flow rate, (2) positioning devices to avoid distortion by cooling tube, and (3) maintaining an intimate contact with plates for exhausting heat. We have installed a cooling system that fulfills these essential conditions by using InGa in the monochromator of BL27SU, so that its energy drift is decreased to 10 meV for 6 hours
