FINUDA is a hypernuclear physics experiment that will start data taking in '99 at the DAPHINE e+ e- collider, LNF Frascati. The detector has been designed to produce new and high quality data on a wide set of hypernuclear observable states. In the following sections the main physics items together with a review of the detector characteristics and performances will be given
