The derivation of critical group consumption rates
Description
Data collected by the National Food Survey on consumption of a number of foods is studied. Foods were selected for detailed investigation either because they are known to provide a significant pathway for some contaminants towards human exposure or because of their widespread importance in the national diet. In calculations of the possible exposure to man of radioactivity from Sizewell that may contaminate agricultural products it was assumed that a person's consumption was made up of wholly locally produced foods. The results of the calculations are discussed. (U.K.)
