Electron microscopical investigation into microstructure of irradiated fuel cans of austenitic and ferritic-martensitic steels
- 1. Vsesoyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Neorganicheskikh Materialov, Moscow (USSR)
Description
Electron-microscopy results on investigation of structure and phase composition of fuel cans from Cr16Ni15Mo3NbB, Cr16Ni15Mo2Mn2TiVB and Cr13Mo2NbVB steels irradiated in BOR-60, BN-350 and BN-600 reactors are presented and compared with the results obtained for commercial sladding material Cr16Ni15Mo3Nb. Positive role of boron and other alloying elements in swelling supression for Cr16Ni15 type steels is established. High resistance of ferritic-martensitic steel Cr13Mo2NbVB to swelling has been confirmed. Influence of neutron irradiation on phase decomposition of α-solid solution in Cr13Mo2NbVB steel is investigated. 15 refs.; 7 figs
