Contribution to the study of fission by on-line mass spectrometry
Description
The author of this research thesis reports the development and use of an on-line mass spectrometry method to determine cross sections on all rubidium and caesium isotopes whatever their disintegration modes and lifetime be. After a presentation of the experimental apparatus, the author discusses the characteristics of the experiment (chemical selectivity, scattering, independent cross section measurement, corrections, background noise, and so on). Then, he presents and interprets experimental results regarding thermal fission, fission at 156 MeV, and fission and spallation at 24 GeV
