Annealing of fast electron irradiated lithium fluoride crystals

Description
Stability of LiF radiation strengthening after 250 MeV, 105 MeV and 30 MeV electron radiation up to doses of 5x1016 and 5x1017 el./cm2 was investigated. Microhardness of specimens after annealing at 100-500 deg C and different tempering from 20 to 80 minutes are investigated. The obtained data testify to distortions of different kind with different concentrations, migrating ability and annealing mechanisms in LiF after high-energy electron radiation. It may be supposed that more essential distortions of the type of vacancy accumulations and dislocation loops of interstitial type take place alongside with point defects and their complexes
