Perturbation method in analyzing spectral effects accompanying the interaction of metal ions with organic reagents
Description
A method has been proposed for estimating the perturbations in organic reagents produced by metal ions; it is found necessary to incorporate first- and second-order corrections in the perturbation method in order to predict the spectral effects accompanying complexing. A quantum-chemical consideration of phenol-2-azo-1-naphth-2-ol shows that it is possible to elucidate the structure of a ligand in a complex and the mode of coordination with metal ions from electronic spectra
