Filtration system for molten lead installation lecotelo

Description

Nuclear applications of molten metals represent an important aspect of research for GenIV technological systems, taking into consideration the use of liquid metals as a coolant for the fast reactors. In the framework of EURATOM research program, RATEN ICN Pitesti became an active partner in several research projects as MATTER, collaborating with several European countries with experience with the study of lead and its alloys as coolant. The first part presents experimental facility LECOTELO (Lead COrosion Test Loop), conducted under RATEN ICN-Pitesti, purpose of this equipment is mainly testing the corrosion / erosion lead to structural materials for nuclear reactors type LFR Generation 4. After testing to commissioning of the plant within the plant were found impurities, the formation of these impurities is a common phenomenon in plants working at high temperatures and not a strict control of oxygen concentration. In order to maintain control of impurities during operation of the installation, it is necessary to use a filtration system.It has been studied for this purpose several types of filters. At the end of the paper filter is presented the equipment for LECOTELO and the type of filter used. (authors)
