Spin determination from side-feeding excitation function of the nucleus 128Xe in the 125Te(α,nγ)128Xe and 126Te(α,2nγ)128Xe reactions

Description
The (α,χnγ) reaction was used to populate a large number of low- and medium-spin states of the 128Xe nucleus. A new method of spin determination from the excitation functions of the side feeding will be presented. The energy trend of the experimental excitation side feeding data is well reproduced by statistical evaporation compound nucleus model calculations. (orig.)
