Distributions of neutron and gamma doses in phantom under a mixed field
Description
A calculation program, based on Monte Carlo method, allowed to estimate the absorbed doses relatives to the reactor primary radiation, in a water cubic phantom and in cylindrical phantoms modelized from tissue compositions. This calculation is a theoretical approach of gamma and neutron dose gradient study in an animal phantom. PIN junction dosimetric characteristics have been studied experimentally. Air and water phantom radiation doses measured by PIN junction and lithium 7 fluoride, in reactor field have been compared to doses given by dosimetry classical techniques as tissue equivalent plastic and aluminium ionization chambers. Dosimeter responses have been employed to evaluate neutron and gamma doses in plastinaut (tissue equivalent plastic) and animal (piglet). Dose repartition in the piglet bone medulla has been also determined. This work has been completed by comparisons with Doerschell, Dousset and Brown results and by neutron dose calculations; the dose distribution related to lineic energy transfer in Auxier phantom has been also calculated

Un programme de calcul, base sur la methode de Monte Carlo, a permis d'estimer les doses absorbees relatives au rayonnement primaire du reacteur, a diverses profondeurs, dans un fantome d'eau cubique et dans des fantomes cylindriques modelises a partir des compositions tissulaires publiees en 1975 par la Commission Internationale de Protection Radiologique (I.C.R.P.). Ce calcul constitue une approche theorique de l'etude des gradients des doses neutron et gamma dans un fantome animal. Experimentalement, nous avons etudie, en premier lieu, les caracteristiques d'une jonction PIN puis compare par des mesures dans l'air et en fantome d'eau, dans le champ du reacteur, les doses donnees par les jonctions PIN et le fluorure de lithium 7 aux doses obtenues a l'aide des techniques classiques de la dosimetrie, chambre d'ionisation en plastique equivalent-tissus et en aluminium. Ayant ainsi determine la validite des reponses de ces dosimetres, nous les avons employes pour evaluer les distributions des doses neutron et gamma dans des fantomes en plastique equivalent-tissus (plastinaut) et animal (porcelet) ainsi que la repartition des doses au niveau des territoires medullaires de ce dernierFiles
