Description
The analysis of fermion field theories is complicated by the anti-commuting nature of fermion fields. This nature results in a functional integral over anti-commuting c-numbers. Such anticommuting c-numbers satisfy a particular algebra. The periodic boundary conditions in Euclidian time which arose for boson fields reappear here as anti-periodic boundary conditions. To understand these facts we must do a careful analysis using fermion coherent states
