Plasma heating by collisional magnetic pumping

Description
Collisional magnetic pumping is achieved by wrapping an exciter coil around a cylindrical plasma and perturbing the confining magnetic field, Β = Β, (l + ∂f(t), where f(t) is a bounded periodic function with a frequency below the ion cyclotron frequency. The transfer of energy between the perpendicular and parallel components of the ion velocity occurs through collisions. The change in the energy of the particles is governed by a homogeneous linear differential equation with periodic coefficients
