Properties of metal-modified and nonstoichiometric ZrO2
Description
Metal additions of Ti or Cr above the solubility limit significantly improve the microstructure and properties of polycrystalline ZrO2 through liquid-phase-enhanced sintering. For Zr additions, the same improvement is observed, the material becomes nonstoichiometric, and the temperature of the cubic(c)-tetragonal(t) transformation is lowered to 14900C at 63 at % O
