12C(γ,π-)12N reaction near threshold

Description

A study of the total cross section for the 12C(γ,π-)12N reaction has been undertaken by observing the 16.3 MeV end point 11 msec β+ radioactivity of 12N. Since there is only one particle stable bound state in 12N, this technique measures the cross section to that one state only
