Frequency of chromosomal aberrations in lymphocytes of peripheral blood of workers occupationally exposed to heightened radiation level

Description

Frequency of chromosomal aberrations in workers employed in development and enrichment high-radioactive minerals in North Kazakhstan is studied. Generalized data on checkup of examined group and comparative characteristic with control group from inhabitants of Almaty city are represented in tabular form. Analysis of chromosomal aberrations frequency of uranium mines worker shows exceeding aberration of chromosomal type (68.92 %) in 2.2 times above chromatid one (31.08 %). Among aberration of chromosomal type maximum value belongs to pair fragments (269 aberration), its exceed in 4 time other aberrations of this type. Frequency of dicentric chromosomes between examined group makes up 62.5 %. Total frequency of chromosomal aberration in cells of uranium mines workers (8.41±0.47) exceeds control data in 40 times. According of dicentric chromosomes rate the accumulated dose of irradiation for studied district is calculated. It is defined that it value is equals about 57.3 rem
