Development of a magnet system for heavy ions scanning
- 1. Academia Sinica, Beijing, BJ (China). Inst. of Atomic Energy
Description
The paper gives the practical formulae for designing the magnet system for heavy ions scanning. What should be considered in the technological design and the measurement results of the magnet system is also given. The magnet system, which produces maximum AC magnetic flux density of 0.50 T(p-p) with repeating frequency of 50 Hz, can scan the 165 MeV 79Br14+ ions to a 0.4 m width after 3 m drifting distance to meet the needs of irradiating PET film and to produce the high quality nuclear membrane filter
