Aging management of I and C equipments in NPPs

Description

This paper evaluates the age-induced failure of safety-related electronic modules particularly concerning to sensors, transmitters, indicators, annunciators and recorders used in nuclear power plant. Failure data are collected from U.S. nuclear plant data bank of License Event Report(LER) from 1984 to 1988 and the evaluation results are presented with the system classification of failure module and yearly based failure variations. Additionally, the paper presents suggestions for effective aging management strategy for domestic nuclear plant operation
