Antireflection coating from porous multicristalline silicon

Description

In this paper we study the optoelectron properties of multicrystalline silicon (mc-Si) layer, which was produced as a result of electrochemical anodization on the emitter n+-layer of mc-Si solar cells. Measurements of integral reflection and spectral responsivity have shown that freshly-prepared mc-Si layer is like effective antireflection coating (ARC). Having used a modified electrolyte solution we observed an increase in photosensitivity of mc-Si solar cells in the short wave-length region of 400-600 nm. Furthermore, mc-Si solar cells developed higher short-circuit currents. Other parameters changed negligibly. The produced porous mc-Si layer was observed to have a peak of photoluminescence (PL) spectra. (author)
