Coordination compounds of certain 3d elements with 3-[N-2-hydroxy-2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylimino]isatin

Description

Conditions of synthesis, composition, structure and physicochemical properties of oxovanadium complexes and some other element complexes with 3[N-2-hydroxy-2-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylimino]isatin (L) have been studied. It is ascertained that oxovanadium(4) chloride reacts in ethanol with L, forming complex of the composition VOCl2L2 · nH2O. The complex is monomeric, ligand L is bidentate. Thermolysis of the complex passes the stage of dehydration, tearing off and combustion of one L molecule with subsequent total thermal decomposition of the substance. 12 refs., 3 tabs
