A pulsed-neutron study of 14-MeV neutrons in 7Li, 6Li and natural Li assemblies

Description
The pulsed problem for fast neutrons in 7Li, 6Li and natural Li has been studied using the multigroup diffusion equation. The time-dependent energy spectra are obtained using the eigenfunction method. The time-variation of the tritium production rate has been studied and the values of the total (time-integrated) tritium breeding ratio have been given for three assembly sizes: 1, 0.75 and 0.5 m3. Also, the energy variation of the mean slowing down time has been studied. The results have been obtained using the 27-group BARC-data-set. (author)
