Description

Particle Radiation Medical Science Center, University of Tsukuba, has started medical uses of proton beams for the treatment of cancer by changing the beam energy from 500 MeV (which is generated by the booster cyclotron of the National Laboratory for High Energy Physics) to 250 MeV. Local dose distribution of proton beams, the appearance of the apparatus for controlling the vertical proton beam radiation, and the application of proton beams to the diagnosis were outlined.
