Photoneutron production in thick targets
Creators
Description
This paper reports new results on the yield of photoneutrons from thick targets bombarded with electron beams. Yields have been calculated for incident electron energies from 20 MeV down to the photonuclear cross section threshold, for tantalum and tungsten targets with thicknesses up to 12.5 g cm⁻². The increased yield from composite tungsten-beryllium targets has been explored.
